Professor Jonathan Brogaard is an Associate professor of Finance at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. His research interests include high frequency trading, empirical asset pricing, and law and finance. He has recently published in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics and the Review of Financial Studies, among other top economic and finance journals. He has worked with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the U.K. Financial Services Authority, and the Canadian Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, in analyzing large datasets. Professor Brogaard’s work has been mentioned in media outlets including the Economist, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, New York Times, Businessweek, and Bloomberg. Professor Brogaard earned his undergraduate degree in Economics and Politics at Occidental College graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2006. He completed a J.D. with an emphasis in tax law and a Ph.D. in Finance from Northwestern University. In his free time, Professor Brogaard enjoys skiing, biking, and attending the theatre.
